David
is the co-founder and CEO of BoomerCafé. Together
with his business partner, Greg Dobbs, David defined the vision
for the site in 1998 as a unique place for news and information-sharing
among baby boomers with active lifestyles and youthful spirits.
BoomerCafé went online in the summer of 1999.
David is a writer, a former award-winning network news correspondent and a public relations agency executive. David's new book, "Making News: A Straight-Shooting Guide to Media Relations," published in 2006. In it, he interviews over 100 leading reporters and editors on how to make news. He has worked with numerous major organizations to build the influence of their brands. He lives in Alexandria, Virginia, and is a lecturer at the University of Virginia.
David's
credentials include Senior Vice President at the Washington, DC,
office of Edelman Public Relations Worldwide where he managed
the corporate communications and reputation management practices.
David
won an Emmy Award for his reporting as a news correspondent for CBS Network News. He has covered major news events around the world.
He
also
has been head of advertising and marketing communications at Gulfstream
Aerospace where he guided the company's image through a successful
$2-billion IPO in 1996 and built unprecedented worldwide awareness
for the super successful Gulfstream V business jet. His work made
the name "Gulfstream" the hallmark for business aircraft
around the world.
